As the next (still untitled) Bourne installment is about to enter the filming phase, the director Paul Greengrass is giving his best to assemble the remaining cast worthy of the franchise, and he is pulling out the big guns, apparently.

So far we do know that the fulcrum of the franchise, Matt Damon, is on board, but now he is finally getting a deserving villain in the awesome form of Vincent Cassel.

Other Details

The plot is still unknown so we don’t really know what will our hero be up against, however, there are some fresh rumors coming from The Variety sources saying Vincent will play a ruthless assassin, much like Clive Owen and Edgar Ramirez portrayed in the franchise thus far.

The rest of the cast includes: Julia Stiles (who is, fortunately back, as Nicky), Alicia Vikander and Tommy Lee Jones, while Viggo Mortensen is also in the talks.

The writer/director trio – Paul Greengrass, Matt Damon and Christopher Rouse – should launch the shooting quite soon, and the release date is scheduled for the end of July next year.

As far as Cassel is concerned, the actor was last seen in “One Wild Moment” and “Child 44”, while he will soon be seen in a Brazilian drama “A Movie Life”.
