The modern big screen adaptation of the children’s cartoon “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” was received with mixed reviews when it was released last year. As it appears, the only thing the movie’s sequel can rely on if its goal is to succeed is to introduce some old, classic character to its crew.

While it’s still unclear as to whether we will see the likes of Krang, Bebop, and Rocksteady in any future installments, it has been revealed that the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2” will be featuring the hockey mask-wearing vigilante Casey Jones, played by Stephen Amell.

According to Variety, The CW’s “Arrow” star Stephen Amell signed on to join the cast of “TMNT 2” as everyone’s favorite antihero Casey Jones.

How will the plot implement this character into the 2016 sequel, however, is still a mystery.

For those who haven’t already met this awesome character, we’ll just say that he’s a guy who decided out of the blue that he should take a hockey stick and beat any criminal senseless because, well, he could.

As for Stephen Amell, you probably know him from the TV show “Arrow,” while he also starred in the 2007 drama “Closing The Ring” and various other small screen series, like “Heartland,” “Private Practice,” and “New Girl.”
