It’s Reunion Time

Old-school “Star Wars” fans are delighted to find much of the original cast returning to a galaxy far, far away.

According to USA Today, we can expect to find familiar faces playing Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, and Han Solo.

That’s right. Not only are Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford returning for the aforementioned roles, but other familiar actors are also awaiting moviegoers.

C-3PO, R2D2, and even Chewbacca will all be played by their original actors, Anthony Daniels, Kenny Baker, and Peter Mayhew, respectively.

Even the music will resonate with long-time “Star Wars” fans since beloved film composer John Williams is once again creating the score.

Many New Faces

“Star Wars: Episode VII” boasts a large cast. In “Episode VII”, we can expect to find some new faces entering the galactic battle.

Rumors indicate that Adam Driver may be the movie’s villain, a character that will have similarities to Darth Vader. Driver is best known for his role as Adam Sackler in the television series “Girls.”

Other rumors whisper that Driver’s villain may not work alone. The role of a second villain may be played by Max von Sydow, an actor who is no stranger to evil, having played Ming the Merciless in “Flash Gordon,” a 1980 comic book film adaptation.

Other cast members include John Boyega, Domhnall Gleeson, Oscar Isaac, Daisy Ridley, and Andy Serkis. Cult movie lovers will instantly recognize Serkis for his roles in two popular series: “The Planet of the Apes” (Caesar) and “Lord of the Rings” (Gollum).

Boyega is best known for his role as Moses in “Attack the Block.” He also starred in the television series “Becoming Human,” playing the role of Danny Curtis. Although originally from Guatemala, Isaac is also a familiar face in the United States, where he played Llewyn Davis in “Inside Llewyn Davis.”

Filming for “Star Wars: Episode VII” will begin in May 2014, and the movie is expected to debut in theaters on December 18, 2015.
