Despite his death in “Star Wars: Revenge Of The Sith,” Samuel L. Jackson’s character Mace Windu seems bound to return to the big screen.

With J.J. Abrams and Rian Johnson having their hands full of the Star Wars sequels, this spinoff is probably going to be a chance to shine for the fresh filmmaker A.J. Edwards.

A.J. Edwards recently did an AMA session on Reddit in promotion of his new movie “The Better Angels.” This is where he was asked by a fan about his possible involvement in the Star Wars franchise, to which there was a solid response from Edwards.

Edwards responded with two comments, saying “Talking about it, not able to say a lot yet” and “It will focus on Mace Windu.”

First off, this would be a pretty good opportunity for Edwards, since he only just debuted as a director, and he received mixed reviews in that regard.

And secondly, it seems kind of strange to first deflect the question and refusing to answer, only to reveal something as important as the main character of the movie.

Whatever the truth may be, Mace Windu is certainly one of the most interesting characters in the whole franchise, and a movie about him would definitely be worth watching.

If it happens, it will most likely be a prequel, focusing on Windu’s road to becoming one of the most powerful Jedi alongside Yoda.

Many questions still remain. Is Samuel L. Jackson going to come back to Star Wars? Will A.J. Edwards’ spinoff happen, and if it does, will we like it? Our best bet is to wait and see what happens in the future of this great franchise.
