According to a report from Variety, the DC project “Suicide Squad” may have found its Deadshot. The star of “Terminator: Genisys” Jai Courtney is now reportedly in talks to play the superior marksman-assassin in David Ayer’s new movie.

Although this is all unofficial, Courtney is set to join a plethora of Hollywood’s finest: Tom Hardy, Will Smith, Margot Robbie, and Jared Leto. All these actors are still in negotiations to join Warner Bros., which has not officially confirmed any casting.

If current reports are to be trusted, Tom Hardy will play the team founder Rick Flag, Will Smith will probably be Captain Boomerang, while Jared Leto is in talks for the role of the infamous Joker.

As for Margot Robbie, rumors have it that she will star as Harley Quinn, and extension of Joker’s psychotic will.

Also, there have been words that a new Lex Luthor will be joining “Suicide Squad,” played by Jesse Eisenberg. His character is set to debut in Zack Snyder’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.”

Jai Courtney has been building quite the reputation to his name in the past decade. The Australian actor became popular by playing Varro in “Spartacus: Blood and Sand,” after which he appeared in numerous Hollywood blockbusters, such as “A Good Day To Die Hard,” “Jack Reacher,” “I, Frankenstein” and “Divergent.”

His future endeavors will include a “Divergent” sequel called “Insurgent,” and we are soon to see him as Kyle Reese in “Terminator: Genisys.” These particular titles offered Courtney to play both hero and villain, making him a diverse actor.

Based on the comics, “Suicide Squad” is a team of supervillains who are offered a chance to reduce their respective sentences by working together in a dangerous black ops mission. But there is a catch: they are all outfitted with GPS transmitters that will explode if the criminals misbehave.

Courtney’s character Deadshot has been a member of the group since the beginning, and remained in it even when his teammates got replaced. The movie “Suicide Squad,” which is currently in the process of getting a rewrite from director David Ayer, is looking at starting production next year, with a release date set for summer 2016.
