Jackie Chan Teams Up With Owen Wilson For Another Shanghai Movie

Many of us enjoy witnessing a mix between the Western culture and the Orient. It’s something about listening to cowboy jokes and practicing eastern philosophies at the same time that draws people in.

As one of the best examples of the said mix, the 2000 “Shanghai Noon,” featuring Owen Wilson as a cowboy and Jackie Chan as the Chinese martial arts butt-kicker, achieved great success when it was released and virtually became a cult classic.

Three years later, the sequel “Shanghai Knights” appeared, and the audience was thrilled. But since 2003, no words have been spoken on whether this moderately successful franchise is going to continue. Until now, that is.

As The Tracking Board reports, we’re going to see the Wilson-Chan combo reprise their hysterical adventures on the big screen in the third installment of the “Shanghai” franchise. The movie in question has been named “Shanghai Dawn,” and it will be directed by Jonathan Glickman.

Both the plot and the screenwriter are still missing from the project. Rumors have it that Miles Millar and Alfred Gough will return to write the script one more time, or that someone completely new is going to pen “Shanghai Dawn.”

In any case, we’re definitely glad to see this comedy classic coming back to life, especially when the original cast is still intact.
