Sure, he’s made the occasional trip into the science fiction and fantasy genres, however, he never really stayed for long nor did he get the chance to be in truly cult films in the same sphere of visual entertainment. However, it seems that famed actor Forest Whitaker might be making career-changing decisions as we speak.

The Hollywood A-lister is in deep talks to join both Star Wars Anthologies: Rogue One and the remake of The Crow, both of which are insanely popular cult classic franchises.

Whitaker’s role in Star Wars is still undisclosed, but it’s safe to say that the legendary actor might have a pretty important one.

The story of the movie, directed by Gareth Edwards, focuses on the time before the events of Star Wars itself, when a rebel squad (consisting of Riz Ahmed, Felicity Jones and Diego Luna) is planning to heist the plans of the original Death Star.

Regarding Whitaker’s role in The Crow, it’s pretty much the same deal, as his involvement in the project is also kept a secret. The new adaptation of James O’Barr’s graphic novel follows a story of a rocker, who (along with his fiancé) gets killed by thugs. He is then returned from the dead by a supernatural force and seeks vengeance.

Forest Whitaker is currently keeping himself busy working on Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi drama The Story Of Your Life, while his boxing drama Southpaw is set for a July release.
