With Dakota Fanning replacing Mia Wasikowska in Brimstone, famed director Gerard Barrett needed someone to replace Fanning in his upcoming Brain On Fire movie. It seems that the found what he was looking for, since the young and talented Chloe Grace Moretz is set to lead the cast in the anticipated feature film.

Brain On Fire is an adaptation of Susannah Cahalan’s memoir, subtitled My Month Of Madness, and it tells the story of Cahalan’s real-life experiences after being diagnosed with a mystery illness.

The illness labeled Cahalan as a psychotic, violent, and dangerous. The troubled journalist woke up alone in a hospital room, confined to the bed, unable to speak or move, without any memory of what happened in the past month.

During that month of madness, she lost her promising newspaper career, and her first serious relationship. She managed to find a way out of that truly difficult situation only with the help and support of her family, and her own inner strength. Brain On Fire will depict Cahalan’s difficult but interesting story, and the writer will be played by the aspiring and talented Moretz. The script was adapted from the book by Barrett himself.

The young actress will be joined by Thomas Mann in the film, which will be produced by Charlize Theron.

Moretz can be seen in a sci-fi adaptation called the 5th Wave, in January.
