Recently, Channing Tatum and the confirmation of his “X-Men” movie was all the rage. But since we know it won’t arrive until sometime in 2017, the dust settled and we moved on to movies we can see in the near future.

But now, “Gambit” is back in the spotlight. According to a report from The Wrap, Tatum’s movie received a new release date, and it’s set for October 7, 2016.

This is great news for many reasons. First off, it shows us that FOX is becoming a large player in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and this can’t be bad since nothing that came out of this studio was ever bad.

Secondly, we feel like it would be a rather pleasant change of scenery if Hugh Jackman took some time off from the franchise and let someone else sit on the throne for a while.

Lastly, this opens up an opportunity for the “X-Men: Apocalypse” movie to feature the Ragin’ Cajun. By quickening the process of making “Gambit,” the MCU directly offers us a better experience of the “X-Men” franchise in the coming months.

Bottom line, we can all agree on not being able to wait for the card-shuffling mutant to arrive to the big screen. So far, the casting choice probably can’t be better, as Tatum is well known for being witty, and he’s a Ragin’ Cajun himself.
