Benicio Del Toro already has some experience in ‘space-roles’ as he had the chance to portray The Collector in “Guardians Of The Galaxy”, but now the actor is officially joining one the most famous intergalactic battle of all time.

The Villain-Like Character

Del Toro is on board for to play a villain in “Star Wars: Episode VIII” as the newest cast member of Rian Johnson‘s latest Star Wars installment.

“Star Wars is coming up, so we’ll see how that turns out. I think we start shooting in March. I’m like the villain, but we’ll see…” the actor told Spanish news site Rac1.

Del Toro and the Disney studio are being deliberately mysterious about the details on the character the Puerto Rican actor will depict, but we do know that Rian Johnson is in charge for writing and directing the upcoming installment of the new trilogy films.

The story should pick up where J.J. Abrams’ Episode VII left off and Del Toro is hired to bring some evil and menace to the whole shebang.

Episode VIII should start shooting early next year and is scheduled for May 6, 2017.
