Though the project has been on halt for quite some time, having major troubles with the development for years and changing different directors and potential casting choices like there’s no tomorrow, it appears that this new take on James O’Barr’s novel “The Crow” just might be on the brink of the much coveted breakthrough.

Corin Hardy to the Rescue

The Relativity Studios has officially set Corin Hardy for the director of the movie and as a replacement for F. Javier Gutierrez, who decided to focus on a new “Ring” horror movie instead. Actor Luke Evans will be tackling the role of Eric Draven.

Story

Draven and his fiancée get murdered by some gangster and thugs, but she is brought back to life of vengeance by mysterious forces, in order to track down and take care of his attackers.

The most recent script was penned by Cliff Dorfman, while Edward R. Pressman will be in charge of the production, alongside Kevin Misher, Relativity’s Ryan Kavanaugh, Jeff Most (who produced the original with Pressman), and Jeff Waxman.

Tucker Tooley, Bob and Harvey Weinstein and Dan Farah are executive producers. The movie should go into production phase in the spring of 2015.
