Captain Save ‘Em: Upcoming Superhero Movies In 2014

Within the last seven years, we’ve observed an incline in superhero movies. Our infatuation with the fantastic and all powerful has and is only going to be more critical. Ranging from one man armies to a unified supergroup, they all have one thing in common – they fight a formidable battle of good versus evil, a universal and constant theme of life.

1. Robocop

This upcoming science fiction film is a remake of the 1987 film, also named “Robocop.” Part-man and part robot, the superhero Robocop is an all around family man with a second chance at life. Though, it comes with a price, an unraveling commitment to the elimination of crime.

2. The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Directed by Marc Webb, the second installment of “The Amazing Spider Man.” Andrew Garfield is recast as Peter Parker, a young teenage boy who is endowed with spider powers, after being bitten by a radioactive hybrid arachnid. The sequel will delve into the complicated relationship of Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy.

3. X-Men: Days of Future Past

Days of Future Past will be the seventh movie the X-Men series and the sequel to the box office hit, “X-Men: First Class.” This movie will be set in two time periods. The superheroes will be required to travel back in time to save their younger selves and their worlds from certain destruction.

4. Captain America: The Winter Soldier

“Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is being released on April 4, 2014. The film will serve as a sequel to “Captain America: The First Avenger.” This installment will show Captain America team with other superheroes, such as Black Widow to battle an enemy hidden amongst the crowd in Washington D.C.

5. Transformers: Age of Extinction

The first Transformers film without Shia LaBeouf, and a brand new cast, “Age of Extinction” will have executive producer Steven Spielberg and director Michael Bay team up yet again for the fourth film in the Transformer franchise.

Four years after the events of “Dark of the Moon,” Earth is trying its best to move on. That is until someone discovers a buried transformer, unleashing yet another war against the Autobots and Decepticons.

6. Guardians of the Galaxy

The Marvel Comics superhero team, “The Guardians” consist of a group of oddballs who come together to escape from the target of the super villain Ronan. Because of the sought after orb, “The Guardians” must make an effort to stand against powerful Ronan for themselves and the galaxy in which they love.

7. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

This 2014 superhero action movie is a reboot of the franchise of the same name. The film will be directed by Jonathan Liebesman, and produced by Transformers director, Michael Bay. When Earth’s invaded by extraterrestrial beings, four mutant turtle warrior, also known as the “Mutant Ninja Turtles,” will use all their resources to defeat the threat to the home.
