It seems like Hollywood can’t get tired of making epic movies of biblical proportions – just look at Christian Bale’s “Exodus: Gods and Kings.” With yet another flick about biblical figures in the works, we had to find out who is the latest actor set to portray Jesus Christ himself.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Rodrigo Santoro has just been cast to play Jesus in Timur Bekambetov’s remake of “Ben-Hur.”

For those with a history of watching movies, you probably remember Santoro as the kind and gentle Karl from 2003’s “Love Actually.”

The younger generations know him best for his role of the ruthless God King Xerxes from the “300” duology.

“Ben-Hur’s” script is being written by Academy Award winner John Ridley, and with that in mind, we can only expect to see yet another side of Santoro’s wonderful acting.

Speaking of which, we’ll be able to see Santoro’s latest performance in “Focus” from February 27th, where he joins Will Smith and Margot Robbie.

As for “Ben-Hur,” you can expect the remake of this epic classic on February 26th, 2016.
