5. Fearless (Peter Weir, 1993)
While the film never received the attention that it deserved, it is nevertheless one of Bridges’ most memorable roles.
Peter Weir has had a long and storied career of getting excellent performances out of actors who are at the top of their game.
One Peter Weir film that critics loved came out a few years later and was called “The Truman Show.” The film marked Jim Carrey’s debut as a dramatic actor, as opposed to only a comedic performer in films like “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective”.
Carrey later went on to play a creep in “The Cable Guy” a not so doting father in “Liar, Liar”.
After the plane crash, Max Klein believes he is invincible and like a God. He seeks help from a therapist who is of no help and finds solace in another survivor of the crash whose baby died during the crash.
Bridges has since acted in many blockbuster movies and he won an Oscar in 2010 for Best Performance of an Actor in a Leading Role in the movie “Crazy Heart”.
