20 TV Shows That Were Cancelled Too Early

Arrested-development

4. Arrested Development

Arrested Development was the ultimate portrayal of dysfunctional family relationships. There were no sane members of this family, and we loved to watch them.

Arrested Development is another in a long line of series in which the viewers knew best. After Fox cancelled it in its third season, Netflix brought it back for one more.

The show received widespread critical acclaim and won a Golden Globe award and six Primetime Emmy awards. It also acquired a cult following that was sadly not enough to keep it alive for more than four series.

The show followed the lives of the Bluth family, a bunch of spoiled, manipulative and self centered narcissists that go out of their way to make life more difficult for each other.

The show featured an all star cast including Portia de Rossi, Michael Cera and Jason Bateman. Several actors made recurring appearances including Charlize Theron, Henry Winkler and Ed Begley Jr. Arrested Development is the brain child of acclaimed director Ron Howard, David Nevins, Katie O’Connell and writer Mitchell Hurwitz.

The show is based on the concept of a family going from “riches to rags” after the global financial crisis which proved to be a major hit with audiences worldwide.
