4. Turkish Military Banned The Show

Late last year the Turkish military banned a number of television shows from its schools, among which Game Of Thrones, to protect its pupils from “sexual exploitation, pornography, exhibitionism, abuse, harassment and all negative behaviours”.

In 2012, officers were expelled from a Turkish military academy for allowing cadets to watch Game Of Thrones, and the ban on the series didn’t stop there.

In June 2015, a prominent Russian politician Vitaly Milonov called for a ban of the hit series because it promoted “deviant Western values”, saying “every one in 10 characters is a sexual deviant”. Still, GoT is the most pirated show in the world 3 years running and there is no stopping it.
