The film portrays the drastic changes in his lifestyle and documents all the effect on Spurlock’s physical and psychological well-being.

The story focuses on the corporate influence fast food industry has on society, emphasizing how it encourages poor nutrition for its own profit.

Spurlock consumed 5,000 kcal (the equivalent of 9.26 Big Macs) per day during experiment. As a result, he gained 24½ lbs. (11.1 kg), a 13% body mass increase, increased his cholesterol to 230 mg/dL, while he also ended up experiencing mood swings, sexual dysfunction, and fat accumulation in his liver.
