This timeless blockbuster was directed by John G. Avildsen, it was shot in only 28 days on a $1,000,000 budget.
The movie managed to gross $225 million, and launched the career of one of the greatest action stars ever, Sylvester Stallone.
This well-known boxing story was inspired by the famous Wepner Vs. Ali fight, and the film managed to win 3 Oscars, including the Best Picture award.
The movie spawned five sequels: Rocky II, III, IV, V, and Rocky Balboa, all written by and starring Stallone. He also directed all sequels except for Rocky V, which was directed again by Avildsen.
