2. The Sacrament

Another addition to the ever popular “found footage” genre, this movie follows a group of friends on a mission.

Kentucker Audley stars as Patrick, a fashion photographer who is eager to meet up with his sister Caroline played by Amy Seimetz. Caroline has been living in a commune named Eden Parish ever since leaving a rehab centre.

Patrick is joined by two colleagues Sam and Jake played by AJ Bowen and Joe Swanberg who believe they may be able to run a story on the isolated community.

Whilst conducting interviews with the other members, the visitors soon realise that the apparent utopia is really just a façade for something far more sinister. The commune is run by a mysterious figure known only as “father.”

The journalists are quickly informed that media intrusion is not welcome at the camp, and an interview between Sam and the Father is one of the most unnerving scenes in the whole movie. The film is directed by Ti West who is best known for his work on “The ABCs of Death” and “Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever.”

His latest attempt is set to be his scariest offering to date with one critic calling it “one of the darkest portrayals of humanity ever put to screen.”
