25 Worst Movies Ever

7. The Adventures of Pluto Nash (2002)

Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Eddie Murphy starred in a series of comedies that established him as one of the greatest comedians of the 20th century.

Unfortunately, “The Adventures of Pluto Nash” failed to live up to fans’ expectations. Eddie Murphy’s space comedy was filmed with a budget in excess of $100 million.

At the time, this should have translated to a well-directed movie with spectacular visuals and a polished feel.

Somehow, though, the movie managed to be released with crude special effects, a meandering plot, and decidedly B movie performances.

Although the cast included actors well-versed in campy humor, including Randy Quaid and John Cleese, the movie came off as a comedy trying to take itself too seriously. Even Murphy himself once commented that he only knew of a few people who enjoyed the movie.

One of the main drawbacks of the film was that it was intended to be a family film; however the flimsy plot of establishing a nightclub on the moon failed to engage children or adults. The film’s bumbling script, poor acting, and lack of humor led it to a $7 million gross and a nomination as one of the worst comedies of all time at 2005’s Razzies 25-Year Anniversary.
